Emad Younan – In Memory

Emad Younan playing in memory of his brother.

Emad Younan is also known as his 3-piece band ‘MEZA‘, which has been on the Sydney scene for a number of years.   ‘Meza’, plays their unique brand of guitar-driven melodic rock, eloquently blended with a distinct eastern flavour.

However, on Saturday night at the Bridge Hotel, Rozelle, Emad played songs, in memory of his late brother Jesse Younan.  When asked why he still plays Jesse’s music, Emad said, “I am keeping my brother’s music alive, Jesse had a real good following and people loved his music’.

Live Music Photographers missed their first opportunity to photograph Emad at Mars Hill Parramatta Cafe, but not this time!!  The Bridge Hotel AKA (Dirty Bridge Hotel), was a great venue.  Its no frills scene creates the atmosphere you would want from a live venue.  Nothing fancy except for cheap beer, a big stage, awesome sound and an old man slumped in an arm chair with his suit case.

If you have not checked out Emad Younan then you are missing out.  Live Music Photographers felt his emotion on stage through his lyrics and his guitar.  Emad can play through an empty crowd or a packed house.  Playing in memory of his brother takes him to a level that can only be felt by being there.

Check out ‘MEZA’ at the Newtown RSL on Friday 15th October.  Doors open at 8pm.

Enjoy the images of Emad from the Live Music Photographers at the Bridge Hotel.

i love your images. they are not-so-strangely reminiscent of some photos i have of Jesse.

i wish i could have been there. it gladdens my heart that Emad is keeping Jesse’s music vibrant and potent. it deserves to be. Emad is a gem.

I’ve seen Emad play many times and his performances never fail to reach an amazing level of talent and raw emotion.

Anyone that hasn’t seen Emad play are missing out on hearing what live acoustic shows are all about. You won’t find that kind of honesty in many other places. So go see him! :)

Dean thanks for the lovely photos, I’m overseas at the moment so haven’t been to a gig in a while but you have really shown some beautiful moments in these photos!

    Peace

Emad, his lyrics and his performance (both of Jessie’s music and his own- MEZA) are one of kind… I rarely miss a gig, obviously it’s a shame I missed this one.

It’s always a good day for a migraine, but on the road long been travelled, you will find your mercy in the medicine man… c’est la vie

Dean, thanks for the Blog and the great photographs
