MÖTLEY CRÜE – Front and Centre

MÖTLEY CRÜE – front and centre, that’s the only way to see these heavy metal legends play after 30 years last night at the Entertainment Centre, Sydney.

The hard-living legends, Nikki Sixx (Bass guitar), Tommy Lee (Drums), Mick Mars (Lead guitar), and Vince Neil (vocals/guitar) may look weathered, but these guys aged between 49-60 years old know how to still rock with the best.

Live Music Photographers were not there for a professional role, but for strictly entertainment purposes.  The only way to really see and feel MÖTLEY CRÜE  play was to make my way up to the front and centre.  By the end of the first song, I was up there.

The next 1 1/2 hours I was guided by a wave of people head banging, jumping up and down with ‘Devil Horns’, pushed in the back, kicked in the legs, pinched by people trying to squeeze into a gap no bigger than a tuna can.  Not to mention having other peoples sweat being rubbed on my face and body, strangers arm pits in my mouth.  But hey, like one guy said, “are we here for fucking Cold Play?”

Everything from Tommy’s roller coaster drum set, Mick’s look of  ’death warmed up’, Nikki’s saliva spitting antics into the crowd and Vince’s “where’s all the fucking good looking women at” attitude, there was no better way to see these guys than up close and personal.

Sex, Drugs and rock’n roll, MÖTLEY CRÜE, what more can you say about these guys??

  1. Hey Nikki Stixx (cool name)

Sorry can’t help you with any professional photographers there that may have taken you photo. Thanks heaps for dropping by and checking out my blog on MÖTLEY CRÜE. What a crazy concert, up front amongst it all was obviously the best place to be.

Stay in though as I may take photos of some of your friends bands in the future.

    Rock on Nikki Stixx… \m/

  5. Hey Lisa,

It was a fantastic night. It was all worth getting pushed around and fighting my way to the front to watch MÖTLEY CRÜE do their thing. Being squashed like a sardine is all part of the fun. Definately an experience to do.

    Thanks for dropping by.

  7. Hey Colin,

Thanks for checking out my blog. LOL, yeah no spandex this time for MÖTLEY CRÜE. They must be finally maturing for their age. Or perhaps not???

Nice pics Dean. Good to see the old boys still rocking – glad there’s no spandex in sight :) Great idea for a blog by the way.

  9. Hi Jackie,

Thanks for checking the pics out. MÖTLEY CRÜE were great, such an iconic band from the 80′s & 90′s. After all these guys went through and have put their bodies through, I admire their determination and passion for what they do. Living life to the fullest.

  11. Hi Jan,

MÖTLEY CRÜE were awesome last night. Not bad photos for a hand held, non-professional camera, not to mention squeezed like a sardine. Possibly next time I’ll be there on business.
